In the controversy over food there are lots of opinions and documentaries. In my opinion, most fail to consider all aspects. There are those that advocate “a natural diet”. That means, no meat, only fruit, vegetables, grains, and minimal dairy. What they fail to take into account is the single biggest factor in any “natural” diet which is simply the avoidance of processed foods. Anything that comes in a box, a can, or a package is probably a processed food. Any avoidance of those products will obviously reduce your weight and improve your health. To put the diet question simply, consider that we are omnivores. From our teeth to our digestive system we are designed to eat both meat and vegetables, fruits, nuts, and grains. We for many thousands of years were hunter/gatherers. This is the diet our body is designed to function on. Some meat, unprocessed fruit, vegetable, nuts, grains, a minimal amount of animal fat such as butter. We are not designed to be nourished by dairy products, processed grains, or any other processed food including the gigantic amount of sugar and salt that they contain. The unfortunate part of modern life in America is that the unhealthy options are so vast, the temptation so great, that moderation no longer exists.

The human shoulder is designed to support the weight of the arm with no effort as long as the elbow remains in close proximity to the body. However, if in the course of your work, etc., you hold the elbow away from the side of the body by at least three inches for any length of time, you will develop sore neck and shoulder muscles. That is why all of you mouse operators and telephone talkers generally complain of shoulder and neck problems.

Lemons. Possibly the perfect fruit. It has been said that lemon juice in water (good water such as spring or distilled) can be used to alkalize the body, as a diuretic, kidney cleanse, liver cleanse, and, a cancer treatment (well, kinda). We drink lemon juice in our water every day. If we have fresh lemons or bottled lemon juice we use about a squirt to every 10 ounces of water. At first, it was a little unpleasant. Now, even in restaurants, we request lemon for our water. If you are concerned about your tooth enamel………try using a straw.
